
Dr. Stephanie Fernandez is the primary contact for students, faculty, and staff regarding all aspects of the doctoral experience. She is involved with the recruitment, admission, financial aid, funding, academic progress, retention, milestone tracking, programming and placement of students in all nine departments.
Dr. Fernanez earned her doctorate in Education from Northeastern University. Her dissertation research focused on evaluating factors that allowed females with STEM Ph.D.’s to persist in their respective doctoral programs. She is committed to promoting the importance of inclusion in STEM while helping SEAS doctoral students navigate each step of their academic journeys.
Dr. Fernandez also holds master’s degrees in Higher Education Administration and Library Science from Stony Brook University and St. John’s University as well a bachelor of science degree in Biology from Long Island University.
